2017年11月23日星期四，应黄煜讲师邀请，阿德莱德大学工程学院副院长、声学与振动所前所长兼海洋能源研发中心主任Ben Cazzolato以"Noise Control From Megawatts To Nanometers"为题为机动学院师生作了报告。大家认真听取报告并积极提问，报告结束后，Prof. Ben Cazzolato赠予蒋伟康教授一本自己编写的《Acoustic Analyses Using MATLAB and ANSYS》。会后，蒋伟康教授团队引导Prof. Ben Cazzolato参观了半消声室和仪器设备并做了细致说明。Prof. Ben Cazzolato一行与上海交通大学机动学院振动、冲击、噪声研究所蒋伟康教授团队进行了深入交流，结下了深厚的友谊。

2017年10月28日振动冲击噪声实验室开展了本年度的研究生安全培训，包括生命所和重装所的部分研究生，共计41人参加了此次培训。塔娜老师主讲，培训内容包括：实验室介绍、国家安全管理体系、消防知识、机械和电器伤害防护、危化品管理以及特种设备操作规范。

在党的十九大胜利闭幕之际，我们迎来了第三十个敬老日和第五个老年节，学院邀请全体退休教职工聚会，分享5年来学院在立德树人、双一流建设所取得的成绩。10月26日，振动所党支部书记李富才教授和静波主任代表振动冲击噪声研究所全体老师和同学参加了此次聚会，院领导杜朝辉书记和孟雁副书记感谢各位退休教师对学校所做的贡献，并祝愿老同志们健康长寿。

2017年10月18日上午，振动冲击噪声研究所的支部书记李富才教授和副所长黄修长副教授代表本所支部观看了在机械与动力工程学院分会场直播的十九大开幕式。同时，从上午九点开始，振动冲击噪声研究所的部分教师在本所会议室也收看了十九大开幕式，大家认真聆听了习近平总书记长达3个多小时的《中国共产党第十九次全国代表大会报告》。

The Institute of Vibration, Shockand Noise (IVSN) was found in 1978 and also is the one of the first PhD-awarding branches andthe state Key disciplines. In 1995 the State Key Lab of Vibration, Shock andNoise was found here. It’s famous in China and overseas as a scientificresearch institute and an advanced technological talent cultivation base. IVSNis oriented to the basic research and application studies of vibration, shockand noise of mechanical systems, as well as the associated signal processingand intelligent maintenance. The ultimate goal, aiming at the construction ofour national economy, is to develop frontier theories, methods and technologiesof vibration, shock, noise and fault diagnosis through theoretical study andexperimental analysis.VSN now has 36 faculties, of which 13 areprofessors, 6 are associated professors and 2 are advanced engineers.Professor WeiKang Jiang is the current director of the institute andProfessor FuCai Li is the secretary of the Party branch. We also have one Chiefscientist of ‘973’ project, two Distinguished Professors of Chang JiangScholars Program and two Distinguished Young Scholars of National ScienceFund.Up to now, more than 200 students awarded PhD degreeand more than 300 students awarded master’s degree here. Two students awardedthe third and fifth National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation respectively. Fourstudents awarded Shanghai National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations and so on.Now about 70 PhD degree candidates and about 80 master’s degree candidates aredoing their research work.We have been undertaking a number ofimportant projects since its foundation, such as the State Key FundamentalResearch Programs, National High-Tech Research and Development Program,  National Natural Science Foundation projects(NSFC), International Cooperation and Exchange projects, pre-studied project of“973” Program, major projects of National Key Technologies R&DProgram, and major and key projects of Science and Technology Committee ofShanghai, etc.

Inter-Noise 2017, the 46th International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering, was held in Hong Kong between 27 and 30 August 2017. Prof. Jiang and his team members, including young teachers Haijun Wu, Yu Huang and Liang Yu, PHD student Hao Jiang, master students Xingjian Pan and Dou L, attended the conference. Four oral presentations were made by the team members. The conference was sponsored by the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering(I-INCE), and was organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in conjunction with NVH Branch, Society of Automotive Engineering China and the Acoustical Society of China. The theme of this conference is ‘TAMING NOISE AND MOVING QUIET’. Over 1000 participants from more than 40 countries/areas attended it and 800 papers for 112 sessions were received. Prof. Jiang was the chairman of the session ‘Acoustical holography/Beamforming/Microphone array’. In the session ‘Sound virtualization and manipulation’，Liang Yu gave the presentation ‘Cyclostationary sound source imaging for engine bay on-site measurements’；in the session ‘Acoustical holography/Beamforming/Microphone array’，Xingjian Pan gave the presentation ‘Beamforming for dipole sources with unknown directivity using revised cross-spectral matrix’；in the session ‘Vibroacoustics-General’，Hao Jiang gave the presentation ‘Identification of the dynamic loads on machineries based on the reconstruction of distributed response with an optimized measurement setup’；in the session ‘Product sound quality’，Dou Li gave the presentation ‘The sound quality analyses of the interior noise of the micro commercial vehicle under different road conditions’. They showed the latest research results and answered the questions from experts and scholars. Also, their research fruits were accepted by colleagues in the session. During the conference, Prof. Jiang and his team listened to presentations of their research interests, and discussed and exchanged with peer researchers on academic questions. Additionally, they visited the products from G.R.A.S. Company which may be used in future research.

The 4th Symposium on Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control (FSSIC 2017) was held in Tokyo, Japan from 21-24 August. Prof. Weikang Jiang and his team members, Ph.D. student Pinxi Mo and Jianzheng Gao attended the symposium. Furthermore, both Mo and Gao gave the oral presentation in the symposium.The symposium was organized by Nihon University, in association with Harbin Institute of Technology. With approximately 150 participants, the 4th Symposium on Fid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control (FSSIC) brings together researchers in the rapidly advancing Asia-Pacific region. The meeting provides a forum for academics, scientists and engineers working in all branches of FSSIC to exchange and share latest developments, ideas and advances, bringing them together, from both East and West, to push forward the frontiers of FSSIC.In the session ‘Wave/Vibration/Noise’, Pinxi Mo and Jianzheng Gao gave the oral presentations – ‘A frequency compensation method to smooth frequency fluctuation for locating moving acoustic sources’ and ‘Frequency domain beamforming for monopole and dipole sources’ respectively. They showed the latest research results and answered the questions from experts and scholars. Also, their research fruits were accepted by colleagues in the session.During the conference, Prof. Jiang and his team listened to presentations of their research interests, and discussed and exchanged with peer researchers on academic questions, which is of great benefit.
